Terms of Service
Effective date: May 21, 2026
Acceptance
By downloading, installing, or using Tavola (the “App”) or visiting tavolaapp.com (the “Site”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the App or Site. These Terms form a binding agreement between you and Peter Pinti (“Tavola”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EEA) to use Tavola. By using the App you represent that you meet this requirement.
Use of the app
Tavola is provided for your personal, non-commercial use. You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code.
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access the App or our backend in a way that places unreasonable load on our infrastructure.
- Impersonate another user or create accounts fraudulently.
- Upload or share content that is illegal, harmful, or violates third-party rights.
- Attempt to circumvent any security feature, rate limit, or access control.
Your content
You retain ownership of content you create in Tavola — restaurant notes, list names, display name, and other data you enter. By using the App, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display, and transmit that content solely to provide the service to you and, where applicable, to users you share lists with.
We do not claim ownership of your content and we do not use it for any purpose beyond operating the App.
Shared lists and collaborative features
Tavola allows you to share lists with other users. By making a list public or sharing its link, you acknowledge that:
- Any Tavola user with the link can view and join your list.
- Users who join your list may add restaurants to it. You are responsible for managing your shared lists and may make a list private or delete it at any time.
- Your display name is visible to users whose lists you join, and the display names of users who join your lists are visible to you.
- When you leave a shared list, your follower record is removed. Restaurants you added to the list remain unless the list owner removes them.
Accounts
You are responsible for keeping your account secure. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from unauthorized access to your account. You may delete your account at any time from within the App (tap your profile icon → Delete Account).
Availability
We aim to keep Tavola running reliably, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the App or any feature at any time. We will try to provide reasonable notice of significant changes.
Intellectual property
The Tavola name, logo, design, and all App software are the intellectual property of Peter Pinti. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks, logos, or other proprietary materials.
Disclaimer of warranties
Tavola is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Restaurant information displayed in the App is sourced from third parties (Google Places, MapKit) and may not be accurate or up to date. We are not responsible for the accuracy of third-party restaurant data.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Peter Pinti and Tavola App shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use Tavola, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of Tavola shall not exceed USD $10.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Peter Pinti and Tavola App from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the App, your content, or your violation of these Terms.
Third-party services
Tavola integrates with third-party services including Apple Sign In, Apple MapKit, Google Places, and Supabase. Your use of those services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of those services.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in New York.
Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date above will reflect the date of the most recent revision. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. For material changes, we will provide notice within the App where practicable.
